In a fast-paced world, it is easy to overwork yourself, take on too many commitments, and extend yourself to the point of exhaustion. This energy imbalance weakens the immune system. If we take care of ourselves by eating properly, getting enough rest and exercise, and practicing techniques that release tension and balance our bodies - then our resistance to illness is strong. If, on the other hand, we abuse our bodies, push ourselves too hard, eat poorly, don’t exercise, and fail to release tension, our immune system weakens, and we are more prone to illness. Acupressure and deep breathing strengthen the immune system and can help you ward off disease.

I’m not a big fan of emails that end with “send this to everyone you know…” but when this came across my inbox, I couldn’t resist sharing it. Maybe I don’t know all of you but, I do know that it’s meant for you.

How Do We View Health Today:
We are taught in our western culture to think in terms of pieces of ideas or concepts rather than integrated complete ideas and concepts. We look at our bodies, minds, emotions and spirit as if each part is fully separate from the other rather than totally intertwined. Western society rewards specialization, the examination of a piece of the whole. We believe we can take things apart into small pieces and deal with these small pieces in isolation of the complete idea or concept.
This fragmented approach has lead us to look at health in a compartmentalized manner rather than as the management of a totality. We believe that our bodies, organs and systems are totally separate from our thoughts, emotions, energy fields and our spiritual selves. We need to look at how our thoughts can affect our behavior and ultimately our health. We need to understand how our emotions work and how repressed emotions can create serious illness in our bodies. We need to appreciate how our values and beliefs can directly affect our everyday health.

Why Eat Healthy?
Do you want to go through life feeling tired, needing a nap after you’ve eaten, overweight, bloated and overfull, nauseous, with intestinal gas, cramps or pains in your stomach, belching after you’ve eaten, with heartburn, constipation, foul stools, dull and slow thinking, depressed, highly emotional, and so forth? If not then it’s time to take a good look at what you’re eating and not eating, how you’re combining what you’re eating and what you are drinking. In so many ways we are deeply affected on many levels by what we eat. What we eat can make the difference between really enjoying a day or dragging ourselves through a day without any sense of joy or fun.
What we eat affects us physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. It’s not easy to have a loving and caring attitude when feeling fatigued, bloated, buzzing around from a sugar high, or just feeling rather down and ill and not knowing why.
Why Foods Affect Us Now That Never Bothered Us Before:
