Joanne has lived in St. Louis most of her life but still has a soft spot for her birthplace in northern Minnesota. It was here in the family’s little cabin in the woods that her love of the outdoors and nature was born. She loves to garden, hike, fish and take her puppy Trace to the park.
Joanne is an adjunct instructor at St. Louis Community College at Meramec where she teaches both lecture and online Stress Management and Wellness classes. Her passion is wellness and she has a gift for teaching others ways to bring peace and calm into their hurried lives. If she is not teaching you can find Joanne in the campus bookstore where she holds the position of Trade book buyer. Books are another of Joanne’s passions and she is seldom without a book in hand.
Joanne graduated from UMSL with a degree in Physical Education and Health and has spent the last 24 years in the teaching field in one capacity or another. From teaching children to college age Joanne has had a wide variety of experiences in the classroom. Joanne has appeared on TV in a 13-week aerobic work out program and has been a guest on a radio talk show speaking on Women’s Wellness. Currently, Joanne is co-writing a book with editor Nathalie about relationships.
Joanne has been married for 26 years to her wonderful husband Larry and they have one son Brian, 23 who is currently working in the film industry in LA.
