Cabin Fever

It’s that time of year for me when I start to get a little frantic for sunshine and the soft warm breeze blowing through me hair.  My fingers itch to start planting and to see something other than the brown trees and white dirty snow. 

When this happens and it does every year I get out my list that I call “Cure Cabin Fever”.  Reread it and add to it.  It normally helps me get my creative juices flowing again and to take this time to do a little healthy hibernating. 

You probably have read and/or tried several of these, good for you that means they must be pretty good ideas.  You may read a new one and find it interesting.  Here’s just a few from my list.  1.  Surround yourself with fresh flowers, and put them in all over your house, not just the kitchen or living room.  I love them in the bathroom!!  Just seeing and smelling flowers can raise your spirits.
2.  Cook, bake it doesn’t matter what just make your hands move and your house smell yummy!!
3.  When you watch TV or read a book wrap yourself in your favorite throw or blanket, the one that is so warm you want to stay wrapped in it forever!!   Your mind will go back to that womb feeling and you will automatically relax faster. 
4.  Pull out old photos and reorganize them in pretty new albums or boxes.  Looking through them can bring out all kinds of feelings, from laughter to tears.  Very therapeutic.
5.  If you are feeling energized, redecorate a room.  Fresh paint and new accent pieces can make you feel like you are in a whole new place.
6. Write or email everyone you have been meaning to talk to but just haven’t had the chance.
7.  Take a good long hike or at least get outside.  Even when it is gray or cloudy getting those endorphins pumping is a must.  Going to a nature trail or park is better then the subdivision.   Nature has a way of bringing peace into your life even if you are not looking for it. If you have some favorites please let us know and we will pass them along to our readers!!
