It’s not often that I receive an email that I want to share with others, but this came to my box today from one of my best friends and I think you might enjoy it, too!

Ideas to live happier with vitiligo
Talking to a stranger with vitiligo
Tonight while shopping I saw a woman with vitiligo standing about 3 feet away from me. There was a man on her other side and I noticed that she caught a glance from him and immediately looked downwards while sliding her vitiligo covered hand into her coat pocket. (Does this sound familiar to you?)
I so wanted to lean over and tell her that he had smiled at her; that he wasn’t gawking at her vitiligo. But I knew all to well why she had done what she did. Immediately I …
Vitiligo repigmentation success
It is my great pleasure to share with you some fantastic repigmentation results sent in by Bryn.
Hi everyone
Here are the photo’s of the recent repigmentation in one of my patches of vitiligo on my inner thigh. I used Ginkgo Biloba combined with ground piperine (using E45 as a Base Cream) and also using Narrow Band UVB handheld lamp.
This regimen appears to work for me, but obviously you all need to assess what risks you are prepared to take to achieve re-pigmentation. Also, its impossible for me to say with …
Prostaglandin E2 based vitiligo treatment
Repigmentation was seen in 40 of 56 patients (71%), with mean onset at 2 months. They concluded that: “The efficacy and safety of topical PGE2 make it a promising therapy for localized stable vitiligo.”
Vitiligo Survey

How can we better share vitiligo cure ideas?
Our site has an abundance of information shared by the many readers from around the world. Some leave comments about products they have tried, and others leave detailed information describing the experimental processes they are using to try and find a cure for vitiligo.though this useful information is readily accessible by either browsing each post or clicking a word in the tag cloud, it would be much simpler for everyone if we use the forum to communicate. Take a moment now and check out the new forum http://vitiligocover.com/forum/

Will a break in laser treatments yield change?
A couple of weeks ago I told you about my dermatologist taking a 3 month break from my treatments so as to protect my skin. My main concern was whether the newly pigmented skin would encourage new pigmentation in the surrounding areas or if it would fade.
I haven’t been using the protopic or taking my vitamins, because i wanted to view the results without interference. I believe the new pigmentation is slowly fading. And I’m noticing that some of the areas that were previously pink (normally the precursor to pigmentation) …
Does stress trigger vitiligo?
Many of us wonder if vitiligo might be triggered by stress, and I have come across a study performed in 2003 by the Dermatological Institute of Italy. The results really surprised me.
The Study:
“Background: It has often been suggested that stress might trigger vitiligo. However, only one study supported this hypothesis, and no study explored the role of other personality or social factors.
Methods: Out-patients experiencing a recent onset or exacerbation of vitiligo (n = 31) were compared with out-patients with skin conditions in which psychosomatic factors are commonly were regarded as …
Excimer laser treatments august 2009 update
Last week my dermatologist determined that it was time to take a 3 month break from my xtrac laser treatments to keep me in the safe zone against the risk of skin cancer (wouldn’t it be nice if our body had the ability to protect us from sun over-exposure?). Not only is this a great precaution, it’s also going to give us an opportunity to see: a) if my skin cells will be able to stimulate re-pigmentation on its own, and b) if my skin will retain all of the …
