Tom Terbrock: The Big “O”

“tom terbrock” “charles d’angelo”Tom’s goal 1.5 years ago was to loose 150 lbs. He weighed 368 lbs. and was, as he likes to teasingly say, the big “O”. Obese! Along with his lofty weight-loss goal, he also had type 2 diabetes and a lifestyle which was slowly killing him.

Tom would wake up tired after a full nights sleep and maybe eat breakfast on his way to work. At lunchtime he would eat a huge burger and fries that would leave him zombie-like for the duration of the afternoon. He would drag himself through his radio show from 4-7 pm, go home, eat a huge diabetic unfriendly dinner, then retire to bed and snack while watching t.v until he fell asleep. His clothes didn’t fit well, he hated looking in the mirror, and he had no energy. Tom resigned himself to believing that this was how his life would always be…he was just going to alway be “the fat boy.”

The seeds of change were planted in his head by his wife, Jill, his best friend, Dave Glover, and the owners of Powerhouse Gym. It took those seeds a year to grow before Tom met his trainer, Charles D’Angelo, and decided that his life could be different and he made a commitment to make a change.
